Pastor Morgan spread the Gospel to more people than we will ever know and the impact that he made on lives will forever be remembered.
A story was told of a of twenty-five years-old lady named Tula. Tula had parents who were very generous to her. Almost everything she needed, which they could afford, they would give it to her. One day, Tula decided she wanted a car with four-wheel drive. The particular car she wanted cost little more than her parents could afford. Therefore, Tula decided to get a part-time job which would help her to pay for the car on her own. When she asked her father to go with her to get her car, both he and her mother tried to talk her out of it. Her father told her if she got the same car without a four-wheel drive on it, it will cost less and he would pay for it. Her mother told her, “If you wait until the fall, I will help you pay for the car”. Tula insisted she wanted what she wanted, and she wanted it now. What her parents did not understand, she wanted to be able to drive through some impassable roads to pick up people who needed a ride to church. Tula’s dream was foreign to her parents, but it was what the Lord had put in her heart. She wanted to fulfill her purpose here on earth. She knew some people who could not afford to get to church on the days when it rained or snowed. Therefore, she dreamed about owning a truck that she could drive through the impassable roads and bring those people to church.
Even though Tula tried to explain to her parents why she needed the four-wheel drive truck, they insisted she didn’t need it. One evening, just about the time Tula parents got home from work and she and her brother were home, their next-door neighbor knocked on their door with a offer for her father. The neighbor told her father that he had been given a new truck, one that had four-wheel and dirt tires, just like the one Tula wanted. Her father told the man, “I can’t afford that truck, It cost too much. The neighbor looked at her father and said to him, ‘I’m not selling the truck to you, I’m giving it to you as a gift.” Tuta ran to the neighbor hugged him and told him; “This is what I’ve been waiting for”.
Sometimes your blessing is already set up and waiting for you. All you need is the dream to release it to you. People will try to talk you out of it. They will tell you all the reasons why it’s not going to happen. The problem in this matter is, the Lord did not put the dream in them. He put the dream in you. They can’t see what you see, and they can’t feel what you feel. They are looking at it in an ordinary way. They can only see the natural. But the Lord puts things in your spirit that are greater than you can accomplish on your own. You may not know how it will happen, but He will do it through you. Always be mindful that His promise is your dream that is about to happen. The Lord you serve is a supernatural, unpredictable and promise keeping God. He knows how to set things up for you, and He knows how to bring them together for your good.
There is a story recorded in Genesis chapter 37 that is worth mentioning. In this story, The Lord gave Joseph a dream. This dream was strange, confusing, and misunderstanding for his family. And because of the confusion, his father tried to talk him out of his dream. Listen to how verses 10 and 11 record it; “When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, ‘what is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you. His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind” (NIV).
As we may observe from this text, Joseph’s father felt like he was too forceful, arrogant, and insistent about his dream. He wanted Joseph to retrieve his dream. As for his brothers, they were jealous that he had the ability to dream the impossible. This may be the same situation you find yourself in now. You may have family members or friends who always think you are too ambitious, or busy doing things that are not necessary. But you must be mindful that the things you dream of and do are promises and gifts from the Lord that He expects you to do.
You do not have the ability to do all that you do and say without the help of the Lord. He is the one who sets you up and puts in your spirit the desire to do some of the things you do. Because of that, you can not allow people to change your mind and talk you out of your dream. The Lord who gives it will also complete it.
Thought to Remember: The dream that I have is not just a thought that runs through my mind. My dream is not just wish I want to fulfill. My dream is the expectation the Lord has put in my spirit and I have to fulfill it. Therefore, watch me as I live out my dream by the way I obey the Lord.
